I was lucky to have access to the house a few days before my move-in date. I borrowed a few plastic crates from a local restaurant and carefully drove over my plates, glasses and breakables, as I REALLY didn’t want to have to individually wrap them in paper. I also carefully stacked my art and drove them over.
Next I searched Google for ‘eco-moving companies’ and ‘eco moving boxes’ and was surprised to learn there are a TON of them out there, even uHaul has started stocking them. Most use a reusable, sturdy, large, stackable plastic box like the one featured in the picture. 10 large boxes (and they’re big) generally rent for about $10. Some companies will event drop them off at your location and pick up at your new one. I was annoyed and overjoyed to find out that all of LA was practically sold out. Note: Reserve them ahead of time!
