My brother is going through a very tough time. He had his heart broken a year ago and continues to struggle with the past and what might have gone wrong.
In a recent phone conversation he shared his pain, and in a truly inspired moment I had a visual of blown glass within his body… so I went just with it and the words flowed organically. “Brother, you have a container within you. This love expanded your container, like air to blown glass. You’ve been stretched and can now contain more. This vessel within isn’t reserved only for love; it also holds possibilities, missions and dreams of all kinds. She was just the air. She served to expand.”
I love this analogy; it removes blame and projection, turning foes into a teachers. It brings one back to the present, and hands them back the power they thought they’d lost but never truly did.
Has this happened to you? Can you go back in time and think of people or situations that came along to help you grow? And how? With distance and time can you now see how they stretched you and left you deeper and more capable of things you never knew? Share your stories with me…
